Day 83, 84 & 85.
Whilst on my way heading East, I rode part of the Great River Road for the first time...
Caught my first glimpse of the Mississippi River too.
Today I was heading to Nashville to meet up with my friend Trey, who was one of the guides on my 2009 MCI Route 66 tour.
Trey and his lovely wife Ellen, let me stay with them for three nights and I had a wonderful time relaxing off the bike and catching up with Trey.

Day 81
I have really enjoyed riding parts of Route 66 again seeing some sights I saw in 2009 and some new attractions but unfortunately this is the last day on Route 66 before turning south...
The Seaba Station motorcycle museum was great.
The well known Route 66 attraction, the blue whale,
An original Route 66 bridge in Kansas
The Cars on the Route gas station
Thankfully I never needed a tow from 'Mator'.

Day 80
Another day on Route 66...
It is great to see people are still re-opening some of the original Route 66 attractions like this small café, with the bar a hundred yards away hopefully opening in another year or two.
The original Lucille's.
The new Lucille's Roadhouse opened in recognition of the old one.

Day 79
In the morning it had stopped raining although lots of standing water around.
The day started with some much needed maintenance whilst still at the motel, before heading to Route 66.
MidPoint Café on Route 66
That door really is bent.
This water tower was intentionally made like this as an advertising ploy.

Day 77
It was long day riding with not many stops, but here a couple photos from the 'Highway of Legends'.
Oh, that doesn't look good...
But it turned out better.

Day 76
It was a cold and wet start to the day with thunder storms forecast so I didn't hang around for breakfast as I wanted to ride the Million Dollar Highway before the weather got any worse.
At just over 11,000ft there was still snow from the night before around.
But once I got down the other side it was drier.
Even got blue skies later in the day.

Day 75
First stop today was only a few miles away at Mesa Verde National Park where I went to see some cliff dwellings.
Some great scenery on the road coming down from the cliff dwellings.
Next was a cold and wet ride to Silverton, Colorado, which has some old western style buildings.
And also the 'Worlds Highest Harley Store' sitting at 9318 feet!

Day 74
Leaving Monument Valley today and heading into Colorado.
Too much cloud for a good sunrise, but still a lovely view to wake up to!
More amazing rock scenery.
This pump was not in operation but good to see so close.
Stopped at the 'Four Corners' monument.

Day 73
A day in the Monument Valley area...
A side trip to the Valley of the Gods, which meant riding an un-paved road but it was so worth it.
On way back to Monument Valley.
Glad to see my tent is still there, it has been very windy today.
And then it rained :(
But at least I got a photo of the rainbow.

Day 72
A bit of variety in todays riding...
Another stop on the Route 66 at Winslow, one of my favourite places.
An un-planned off road section, but the scenery was good.
On the road to Monument Valley.
This is a good spot for my tent.
